You probably don’t think of Olney if you’re looking in the market for a condo. Depending on your price range, you’re most likely looking in Rockville or Gaithersburg or Germantown… Downtown Silver Spring and Bethesda if you must be close to D.C.

Let me tell you there are some real gems to be found in Olney. What a great way to get your foot in the door so you are part of the Olney family. Your kids can immediately make Olney friends through our schools and sports programs. We have some of the best in the area. Research Sherwood and Good Counsel for starters. Look no further than OBGC for sports. The tackle football program is solid. It’s baseball program is absolutely one of the top in our area. I can tell you first hand that many kids travel a significant distance to be on our teams, instead of going with one of their local teams. We have top coaches who run the teams and run year round camps and clinics. Their achievements are strong with so many players who make their High School team. Another significant number who go on to play college ball.

One of the obstacles in the Montgomery County area can be the availability of good playing fields. OBGC has a complex with 5 baseball fields, the main football field, and at least 4 other fields that are used for football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey. There’s a concession stand, bathrooms, equipment barn. “Field of Screams” is held here every Halloween.

Olney has grown, however it has maintained a small town feel. There are no high-rise apartment or condo buildings. For the most part it’s made up of detached homes, many with large lots. There are a few nice townhome developments as well. On the fringes, you can quickly feel like you’re in the country. Great thing is, you now have the ICC exit on Georgia Avenue sitting on the southern edge. This has made Olney more accessible and thus that much more desirable.
